FREEZE RELIEF:
Freeze Relief is part of a complete basement system. It prevents discharge lines from freezing which protects your home from flooding Maintenance-free PVC means no plugs, valves, or hoses and prevents back-up, sump pump burnout, and basement flooding.
How It Works:
Cold Northeastern weather can cause sump pump lines to freeze when they are exposed to cold weather temperatures. Rapid Response uses perforated 2 x 2 x 2 basins with perforated lids in our basement systems. When sump pump discharge lines freeze they can prevent water from moving and prevent proper discharge since the pump won’t be able to lower the water in the sump basin and will run continuously. As a result, a frozen sump pump line can cause water to back up in the sump pump basin causing the basement to flood. It can also damage your sump pump, and make operating your sump pump much harder. Freeze Relief is a small, aesthetically pleasing overflow device that allows water to discharge from the line even in the event that it becomes frozen or blocked for any reason. Freeze Relief prevents frozen lines by relieving your sump pump line and allowing water to escape from the sump pump discharge line. This device is an important part of your basement waterproofing system that ensures that your basement stays dry event during cold Northeastern winters. While this does result in discharged water near the home, the water is not discharged at the return rate, making it an effective
solution for the coldest winter days. Freeze Relief is maintenance free. There are no valves to turn and no hoses to attach.
